"I guess, dare? Why not." Bennet said quietly, still feeling a bit awkward, he realized he still had some more food, and was hungry again, so he grabbed his plate and began to eat again. Although he was behaving rather awkwardly, he was really enjoying this time with Connor, the guy was interesting, and Bennet figured that there was a lot more to him than what he could tell. "Oh, uhm could you pour me a drink, please? I mean, you don't have to, but uhm, yeah .. . "
“Dare…Okay then.” He generated some more ideas in his head as he walked back over to the couch with his drink. “I dare you to go make a smoothie out of random condiments we have in our fridge and then go drink it.”
Bennet shuddered, "Oh dear lord. . ." He got up and headed over to the refrigerator, "We better not have anything too gross in there. And also, that brings me to a question, when you say condiment, what do you consider a condiment, would chocolate syrup be a condiment? Whipped cream? Sprinkles? Mayonaisse? Kechtup? And before you say that it doesn't matter, it does, if you say condiment, what do you mean by that?" He was sort of hoping that he might be able to get out of making the smoothie if he confused Connor enough, it had worked before for him, so maybe it'd work again.
“Anything you put on top of food or dip your food into is now a condiment.” He said with a wide grin. He was very proud of himself for this dare. He probably wouldn’t make Bennet drink the whole thing, but he didn’t need to know that.
"Ugggggh, fine." He grabbed some of the stuff he used a "condiment" and began to put them on the counter, "You know, I might just be sick after drinking this, thanks to you." He said as he grabbed the blender and turned it on. "Okay, so I just toss stuff in?" He said, as he tossed the things into the blender, then pushed the button.
“You’re welcome. And yeah just toss it all in there.” He’d walked into the kitchen, sitting at the counter and watching him to make sure he’d actually commit to the prank.
Bennet shuddered yet again as he watched the food become a hideous shade of brown. He stopped the blender and grabbed a shot glass, not wanting to have to drink too much, and poured some of the "smoothie" into the drink, "Okay, this is all I'm going to drink, is that alright with you or do I have to drink more?"
He let out a dramatic sigh. “I suppose that’s okay.” He stayed overly dramatic for a moment longer before grinning widely. “Now then…drink it!!” He looked way too excited about this.
Bennet gave Connor one more look as if he was pleading for help, then drank the smoothie. His immediate thoughts were that it was horrible, and he never wanted to drink anything like this again, then he decided that, all in all, it wasn't the worst thing he had tasted before. With a smug grin on his face, he swallowed the drink, "Wasn't all that ba. . .."Then, he felt it, his stomach must have tied itself in a knot, he felt oh so sick. He rushed to the bathroom, his face green, and closed the door behind him. After a few minutes, a paler Bennet walked back into the kitchen, "Would you like to try some?"
“Yeah no thanks I’m gonna do a hard pass on that one. And I’m just going to remind you now that you can’t reuse dares, so you can’t even dare me to do it either.” He put a gentle hand on Bennet’s shoulder. “Seriously though..are you alright?”
Bennet nodded slowly, as if he wasn't exactly sure himself, "Oh, I'm sure I'll be fine." Then he remembered that he was being an idiot right now, he could heal himself. Although, it would take a little while, and people might see the light he used for it. "Just don't have me drink any more of that smoothie."He said with a shudder, and then a small smile, "Uhm, just give me a second, I'll be right back, I think I'll just need to take something."He headed over to his room, and left the door cracked open as he began to rummage through his things.
“Okay well I’ll be here.” He called out after him. He went ahead and dumped the rest of the smoothie down the drain. “Jeez this stuff really is gross.” He mumbled to himself. He looked up towards Bennet’s room, checking if he was coming back.
Bennet wasn't going to tell Connor about how sick he actually felt. He knew that he could easily heal himself, and it wouldn't be too hard, it would just be hard to explain the noise and the lights that would come from it. He quickly grabbed the pills he was looking for, took them, then headed back out to where Connor was. "So, uhm do you want to continue the game? Or are you ready to call it quits? It's kind of getting a little late."
“Yeah let’s just call it quits for tonight.” He really didn’t want to push Bennet too much further tonight. “I still might end up going out for a bit so if you hear anything that’s just me.”
"Out? It's really late." He looked over at the clock on the microwave, "Well, you do you, if you need me I'll be in my room." He said over his shoulder as he walked away.
“Okay. I should be back by two am or so. If not I’ll let you know.” He called after Bennet before heading to his own room. He pulled out his phone, opening it to a group chat called ‘The Unholy Trinity’. He quickly typed up a message, asking if anyone wanted to go out that night. Of course the other two didn’t even respond with a yes or no. Instead, it was just two quick replies of “dibs.” He rolled his eyes and typed back “see you guys in 10 then?” It didn’t take him too long to get ready and he made a last stop at Bennet’s door to let him know he was leaving.
Bennet had done a little bit of thinking, when Connor had mentioned his friends, Bennet got a weird feeling, as though something was amiss, or off. Then, he remembered his suspiciouscions from the night before. And then he got an idea, he had figured that Connor would be going out that night with that friend, or maybe even another, so if he could figure out what they truly were, then he could maybe somewhat complete his mission, or get a headstart on it. He quickly changed his clothes again, then popped his head out of the door, "Okay, have fun!!!" He waited about maybe three minutes before following Connor out of the apartment and through the darkness.
Connor wasn’t expecting Bennet to follow him so of course he didn’t even check. The further they got from the apartment, the more people ended up being on the street, none of them really looking like great people. Connor seemed to fit right in with them though, easily moving through the crowd. Eventually he spotted who he was looking for, the same guy from the other night along with a girl who looked rather similar. Connor smiled, making his way over to them.
"What the. . ." Bennet murmured as he saw a group of people just hanging out in the street at almost one in the morning. "I am in trouble. . ." He moved towards the outskirts of the group and pulled out his phone as if he was just texting someone. Which he was, he was frantically texting his boss pictures of some of the people who looked familiar and hoping that she could find a match in the database. Which would then help him find out if they were truly demons like he thought they were. After a few minutes of that, a tall guy -who looked to be about Bennet's age- came over and started to talk to Bennet. He wasn't exactly paying attention to the guy, at least as well as he should of but then the man said something Bennet wasn't exactly expecting.
Connor had stood chatting with his friends for a few minutes before the three of them headed towards what looked like a club, Connor’s arm wrapped around the girl’s waist. The other guy walked behind them, looking over his shoulder before they all headed inside.
He looked around sort of nervous after he had heard the guy's offer. And mentally began to freak out, what he had thought was a friendly conversation -as friendly as one could be at one A.M with a random stranger- was the guy hitting on him. Oh good Lord. . . He tried to step away from the man, but it seemed as though the man had no intentions of letting Bennet be. (I have no clue what to do with this boi rn)
((Oof I’ll have Alec come find him))
(I've come to the point of being half brain dead today soooooooooo)
And then Alec, the guy who’d been in their apartment the other day, showed up, giving the stranger a friendly pat on the shoulder. But his tone was anything but. “Hey pal, I’m gonna have to ask you to back the fuck off of him.” Alec was pretty intimidating, standing at around 6’4.
The man turned around glaring at Alec, then backed off a little, mumbling curses under his breath about the two men. Bennet began to walk away, still shaken up, "Good Lord, I need to get back home. . ." Then remembering his manners he turned back, "And, uhm thank you."
