He felt himself tense up a little at hearing Bennet come back. But there was no escape now. “Um..no I’m not. What’s up?” He asked, turning to face Bennet. He was 100% ready to lie to Bennet’s face if needed.
He felt himself tense up a little at hearing Bennet come back. But there was no escape now. “Um..no I’m not. What’s up?” He asked, turning to face Bennet. He was 100% ready to lie to Bennet’s face if needed.
He sat down next to him, trying to hide the quiver in his voice, "I, uhm don't really want to talk about this, and I know I'm about to break every single rule of protocol, but I think I know what you saw last night, and I can completely explain. I promise that I won't hurt you, at all, as long as you don't hurt me."
He was hesitant at first but after a second he nodded. “It’s a deal. You don’t hurt me, I won’t hurt you. So…let’s talk.” He was trying to act a lot braver than he felt.
"Look, I uhm, I don't know how to put this into words, or explain it to you, or even make it make sense for myself." Bennet began to nervously ramble fidgeting with the edge of his cardigan, "I uhm, have well. . .these." He said as he let his wings unfurl fully. He sighed and tried to not look Connor in the eyes, "I think you know what I am." He mumbled, "And, I think I know what you are. . .As well as your friends. I won't hurt them either." he added quickly, his cheeks reddening as he felt the other boy staring at his wings.
“I’m honestly surprised I didn’t figure it out sooner. Then again…I’ve never encountered an angel before.” He popped out one of his color contacts, revealing a blood red eye. “Well you guessed right about me and of course my friends too.”
Bennet studied Connor's face, and stared into the eye, "I feel like I should be scared or something, or be reacting completely different, but your eye is kind of, no it's pretty." He said softly, "But uhm, I, uhm well, I uhm, I don't know what to do, I like you, you're nice, and I don't want to see you getting hurt." He rubbed a hand over his face, and his halo appeared over his head, "I can't report any of you." He mumbled softly, "But now I'll be in major trouble."
Connor felt his face flush lightly when Bennet called his eye pretty. He couldn’t let him get in trouble for this. “I might be able to convince Alec and Annabelle to go back to hell…but I’m not entirely sure.”
((Also Alec’s sister’s name is Annabelle I’ve just been too lazy to name her for like forever lmao))
((That's such a pretty name))
"I-I'd appreciatte that, but uhm, so that guy doesn't decide to kill me, could you not mention that I had anything to do with this?" He chewed his lip a little bit, trying to come up with a decent idea. I don't think that you will be forced to leave though, you don't show up in our roster for humans or demons, so you should be fine. But your friends are trouble makers for us and for the human race, really them and most of their known followers would need to leave, if not, there could be a lot of trouble."
“Yeah of course I wasn’t planning on telling them you had anything to do with it anyway.” He wouldn’t tell Bennet but he knew his friends wouldn’t leave for long, only for a few months or so. Or they’d just go somewhere else on earth to cause problems. “Yeah they are most definitely troublemakers….” he looked like he had some type of war flashback as he said, “big troublemakers.”
((Omg thank you my brain tried literally so hard XD))
((Np))
Bennet nodded, "For them to be so easily identified, they are rather dangerous to the human race, and to the us angels." He stood up slowly, "I, uhm, I'll let you be for now, I think I might just go out tonight or something, I just need to take my mind off all this." He planned on getting drunk, maybe meeting someone, and forgetting about this for at least a night, he was sort of sick this situation, and he figured that this was putting Connor through some pain too.
“You sure? You don’t have to leave if you don’t want to.” He didn’t know why he wanted to take care of Bennet like constantly. He knew it was a bit smothering, and probably a bit annoying too but he couldn’t help it.
"I-I mean, I'd though I'd let you be for a little bit, to think things over and stuff. And well, being around me might be tough for you. We're supposed to be enemies and stuff. Not friends or roommates, no matter how we feel." He sat back down to face Connor, "I think you're really nice and different from the other demons, but, I don't want you getting in trouble about knowing about me, or me knowing about you."
“Dude literally no one cares about what I do. Hell is such a hierarchy thing, if you don’t cause a lot of chaos they don’t notice you. They’ve practically disowned me for being so boring. I won’t get in trouble for associating with you.”
"Oh, uhm, well that's good, I guess." Bennet smiled a little, "So, would you like me to stay or something? I don't mind it though, but it's all up to you. I mean, yeah. . ."
“I mean unless you want to leave, I’m fine with you sticking around.” He said with a shrug. “Hey…do you think you’re going to get in trouble if your bosses find out about me?”
"I might, but I might not. I mean, they won't be happy if they now that I've spent time willingly with a demon, but as you've said, you're not for causing trouble, so I wouldn't get into too much trouble." As he spoke he fluttered his wings slightly, "At least, I think."
“Well that’s good at least. And now that you know I can finally take these damn contacts out. They’re so annoying I swear!!” He took the other one out, letting out a sigh of relief. “Much better…”
"I would think so, it's so painful to hide these things." Bennet said motioning to his wings, "And they hurt when I lie down on them." He smiled a little seeing Connor remove the contacts, "Wowwww, you're eyes though, they're really pretty, I mean, I think so, but the color, it's just." He trailed of self-consciously, "Uhm, yeah?"
He smiled sheepishly. “Thanks…no one’s really said that before.” He fell silent for a few seconds, still smiling. “Yeah wings seem like a lot to deal with. We just have the red eyes and the horns. The horns are kinda hard to see though unless we’re angry.”
"Oh, well, I'm glad I said it, because it's true. Wait, that just sounds cheesy, sorry about that, but I do mean it." He fluttered them again, and a few loose feathes fell to the ground, "They are, and quite annoying to clean too." He said with a shrug, "The halos are nice, but I don't know, it's sort of weird to me." He was enjoying the conversation and didn't exactly want to leave just yet, maybe in a few minutes, "Angry? Oof, that must be painful for them to come through, right?"
“Yeah it can be pretty painful sometimes. But not always. You kind of get used to it after a while.” He replied with a shrug. “They’re always kinda there so it’s not like it’s breaking completely through the skin or anything.”
"Oh, I guessthat makes sense." He said with a nod, then checked his watch, "I uh, if I'm going to go out, maybe this is the best time, I-I'll see you later then?" A part of him wanted to stay and spend more time with Connor, talking and just hanging out, he knew that he was attracted to the other guy, in some way, but he didn't want to exactly admit that to himself just yet.
“Oh okay then..see you later I guess.” He really didn’t want Bennet to go. It was nice talking with him, even if he was an angel. He just seemed so different from all the angels he’d heard about.
