“Bet I did. Drunk me is a dumb bitch.” He sat up, pulling away from Bennet a bit. “People typically don’t describe me as ‘nice.’” He commented thoughtfully.
“Bet I did. Drunk me is a dumb bitch.” He sat up, pulling away from Bennet a bit. “People typically don’t describe me as ‘nice.’” He commented thoughtfully.
"Why not? Other than at times pressuring people to do dumb things, and having terrifying friends who probably want to kill me, you're nice." He said with a shrug. He sat up as well and moved over to give Connor some space, "Did you sleep well, I mean, well, gosh. . ." He trailed off awkwardly, "I'm such an idiot."
“Don’t take it personally, they want to kill almost everyone.” He yawned, stretching. “Yeah I slept pretty okay.” If he had any memory of what had happened between them last night, he certainly wasn’t showing it.
Bennet studied his face for any sign that the other remembered something, and a knot in his stomach began to form when he realized he didn't. "Uhm, I going to make breakfast, do you want anything?" He stood up and headed to the kitchen, trying to just get a little bit of space from Connor.
“I’m okay, not really hungry right now.” He lay back down on the couch, his memories slowly coming back. He didn’t acknowledge them. He couldn’t get close to Bennet like that. Things would never work, even looking past the obvious fact of him being a demon and Bennet being an angel. He knew Bennet deserved someone better than him. Someone who wouldn’t be as problematic as he knew he could be at times.
Bennet nodded a little bit, "Okay then," and began to pour himself cereal, in two bowls to be specific. Carrying the two bowls over to the couch he started to to sit down on the end where Connor wasn't lying down on. He began to eat quietly thinking of what had gone down last night, "Uhm, Connor?"
“Hm?” He asked, sitting up a bit to look at Bennet. He already sort of knew what Bennet was going to ask. He’d just have to respond in a way that wouldn’t hurt Bennet too much. ‘So much for having another friend..’ he thought to himself.
He was going to ask about what had happened night before, but decided to wait longer and just ask another question, "So uhm, what's your favourite video game? Do you like uhm, never mind?" He sighed softly, "Do you like Cheetos?"
“Cheetos are okay I guess. I tend to actually like pretzels better than chips. Less grease.” He commented with a small shrug, laying back down on the couch.
"Oh, that's true," he said nodding, "I mean yeah." He said with a slight frown, a little thoughtfully. "So uhm, do you uhm, want to catch something to eat on Monday? Just to hang out, you know? As friends?"
“Sure.” He said, already thinking of ways that he’d be able to get out of that situation. He didn’t want to cause Bennet any problems. Which meant he couldn’t be close to him, at least that’s how Connor saw it.
"That's great, I uhm, think I'll be working that day and stuff sooo." It was awkward, he felt that way at least. He could tell that the feelings Connor were showing yesterday were only because he was drunk and not because he truly felt any of it for him. He felt bad about it, he liked Connor a lot, but he knew that maybe he didn't feel the same, which hurt him to think about, but it was probably true.
“M’kay wellll…” he yawned, running a hand through his tangled hair, “I think I’m going to go back to sleep now.” He said, closing his eyes, abruptly ending the conversation. He felt like crying, he really liked Bennet, and that’s exactly why he had to let him go.
He nodded, "Oki, it's fine, sleep well. Sleep well," he mumbled as he walked towards his room. He grabbed a change of clothes, then headed to the bathroom. After a shower he was ready tog ok out. Maybe he'd go shopping or something just so he could forget about all that had happened.
By that point, Connor was gone, having moved into his own room to try and get some rest. Or some place to just breathe and relax and try not to panic.
Bennet started to leave the apartment a d go to the library. He decided to not go shopping, just so that he wouldn't spend d that much money. He was sort of confused as to why Connor was acting too weird he figured that the other boy just wasn't all that interested in him. But he sounded like he did, but maybe, maybe he lied, people did that a lot, so he was probably fine. His phone buzzed and he figured that it was a coworker, but when he pulled out his phone he saw that it was the guy from last night, Ashton. He had sort of apologized about the way he had treated him the night before and wanted him to come over. Not even thinking about it, Bennet agreed and he made his way over to the other guy's apartment. He figured that Ashton was wanting to continue what was going from last night, and Bennet didn't really care. He was hurting and had no plans on continuing his mission. He never wanted to back to Heaven, or stay on Earth, but he couldn't exactly do too much about it. He had thought about it in the shower, and during the days before. He was needed, or wanted - Gabriel made that clear- so he wanted to just find happiness on Earth. He knew that Connor didn't want anything to do with him, so maybe he'd find someone else
((Noooooo Bennettttttttttt))
((Bennet just doesn't know what to do with himself))
Connor ended up being unable to sleep. He just paced and paced and paced until eventually he realized Bennet had been gone for way longer than he should’ve been. He grabbed his phone, typing out a quick ‘Hey where are you?’ before sending it to Bennet.
((T^T poor Bennet))
Bennet had finished getting dressed again when his phone buzzed again, sending an apologetic look to Ashton, he checked his phone, and inwardly groaned when he saw that it was Conner. He hoped Connor didn't question him too much when he got back to the apartment. " At a friend's house, I'll be back soon." He quickly apologized to Ashton, and planned to come over the next day, before racing home.
He wasn’t sure how much he believed Bennet but he knew he had no right to place any judgement. Not after he’d just blown Bennet off and acted like a coward, again. This was a pattern with him, he always got too scared, not wanting to risk being vulnerable again. The risk of getting hurt was always too big for him to commit. He couldn’t let that happen with Bennet. Connor sat down on the couch, waiting for him to come back.
Bennet opened up the door and came in. "Hey Connor! What's up!" He was grinning ear to ear, and was pretty happy about his time spent with Ashton, "I'm going to get a snack if that's okay, or do you want to talk or something?" He had tried to push any of the thoughts or memories of the night before out of his mind, and make it seem as though nothing had happened, so he was trying to act as normal as possible. He let his wings out and sighed a deep sigh of relief when they unfurled, "So much better, I swear, these things suck when they are hidden."
He didn’t respond to any of Bennet’s banter, waiting for him to finish before he spoke. “Um Bennet…can we talk?” He asked, looking over at him from the couch. Connor had a blanket on his lap, just as something to make him feel more comfortable and relaxed.
Bennet nodded and headed over to the couch and sat down, leaving some space between them, "Well, uhm what do you want to talk about? It's nothing bad is it? Are you being sent back to the H E Double Hockey Sticks place?" He fidgited nervously hoping it wasn't the later, "I'd miss you if you were."
He shook his head. “No it’s not anything like that thankfully. But um…we need to talk about what happened last night..” by the end of the sentence, he’d gotten quieter and he couldn’t meet Bennet’s eyes.
