"Last night? Oh that? Yeah, I guess so. But uhm, why? It didn't seem to mean to much to you, so I figured that that was what it was, nothing. But if I'm wrong, you can just tell me." He knew he sounded rude, but he was sort of hurt from Connor's well, actions earlier, just avoiding him, just like Gabriel had done too.
“I’m sorry about that I just um..needed time to process. And I hid like a coward, and I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have just avoided you like that. You deserve better.”
Bennet bit his lip, as though he was going to say something, "I uhm, I understand that actually." He sighed softly, "I really understand that, and I honestly forgive you, it's not something to feel bad about." He moved a little closer to Connor, "I deserve better? No, I mean, I don't think so, wait, no, I mean, I think you're a really good guy."
“I’m not though. You deserve so much better than what I can give you. So I thought if I distanced myself I could just pretend like it never happened. Pretend as if I didn’t feel anything for you….” he looked back down at his hands, falling silent.
"So, if that's why you moved away from me, why are you telling me?" He sighed softly, Why did I go to Ashton's place? Why oh why? He shook his head slowly, "But, uhm, I uhm, seriously, why must you . . .why?" He sighed again, "You. . .you're acting just like him, it's. . .it's not fair to me. . ." He felt terrified and just hurt, just so confused.
“I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be like him it’s just-“ he sighed, falling silent for a few seconds, biting his lip anxiously before speaking up. “I knew I was being a coward, and that wasn’t fair to you. I’m just trying to be honest now.”
"You aren't a coward, at least, I don't think you are, I think you're brave, and pretty nice for a demon." He looked away from him, still a bit nervous, "But, I mean, I-I understand if you don't feel comfortavble being like that with me. I understand that. But I wouldn't mind if we were close, or even closer than that, if uhm nevermind." He started to ramble, and that was making him a little self conscious, "i mean, I get it if you want me away from you."
He shook his head. “It’s not your fault, I do want to be close to you it’s just…” he looked down at his hands. “I’m normally fine dating humans but…when it’s someone immortal like you it’s just…hard for me..” Whether there was a reason why, it didn’t seem like Connor was going to share at the moment.
Bennet nodded understanding what the guy meant, "And that's alright, I guess, maybe I'll let you for a while, just you can I guess, well we can just forget about that night. I don't want you to feel like you owe something to me, or feel like you have to be with me. So, I uhm, maybe we'll both find someone else, but I uhm, I just want you to know that I really do like you."
He smiled softly. “I really like you too. And I do want to be with you I just don't want to accidentally hurt you. I have…problems sometimes.” He mumbled the last part, looking up at Bennet.
"I uhm, I get that." Bennet sighed softly, "I just, I want you to know that I care about you, a lot." He said with a smile.
He smiled again. “I care about you too.” He got a little nervous but knew he needed to ask. “So do we want to try this…try being together?” He looked up at him sheepishly.
"I uhm," He remembered the time spent with Ashton, did that mean as much to him? It was nice, but he knew that it didn't mean a thing to either of them. His wings fluttered happily, "Yes."
His smile widened and he leaned forward, hugging Bennet tightly. “Thank you” he whispered, feeling happier than he had felt in awhile.
Bennet hugged him back, but his mind wasn't focused on the moment. 'What if I get in trouble for this? What if. . .' Then he quickly brought himself to reality, he should be happy, he really did care for this guy, a lot more than Ashton, although they had something else, this was special and he wanted to see Connor happy, and loved.
After a few more seconds of hugging Bennet he pulled away, the smile still lingering on his face. He was trying to take things a little slow, not wanting to do anything that would make Bennet uncomfortable.
He pulled back and sighed with contentment. His wings, which had been laying flat against his back fluttered a bit, lifting him off the ground. "Uhm, Connor, I just have one question, or a request. Could you, maybe not mention this, or us to well, Alec? I'm pretty sure he wants me dead, which well, I'd like to live until I'm at least 1,000? Maybe a little bit longer, but I don't think that'll happen if he gets near me."
“If it would make you feel unsafe then I won’t tell him. But the two of them will probably get suspicious after awhile, they’re both very observant. However..they’re pretty okay for demons, so I don’t think Alec is going to murder you or anything. He only really kills people that he believes deserves it, so you’re safe. But yeah, I still get why you’d be uneasy.”
"Well, I mean, I'm sort of terrified of him. I mean. . .gosh, when I got lost the other day, he just grabbed me and tried to drag me over to you saying that I had followed you there. That scared the living heck out of me." Bennet said with a sigh, "I mean, if he well, finds about well." He motioned to the wings and halo, "Then I'll be dead."
“To be fair I just assumed you were following me too, after he told me that is.” He sighed. “Yeah I don’t know what he’d do if he found out you were an angel.”
Bennet chuckled a little bit, trying to hide the fact that he had followed him, "Yep, I mean, I probably would've thought the same too, but I realy wasn't following you. " His wings folded down and he sat down next to Connor, "I think we both know what he would do."
((I lowkey think it would sort of be funny if Alec and his sister or maybe boyfriend came over))
((Low key we should))
“Well I’m glad you weren’t following me..” he mumbled, leaning his head on Bennet’s shoulder. “And I don’t know if he’d actually kill you kill you. Anyway, even if he did, you’d probably be reborn after awhile. But I’d miss you..”
((Would you like me to play him?))
Bennet smirked, rolling his eyes a little bit, "Hhmph, pretty sure he would." He slipped his arm around Connor's shoulders and pulled him closer, "I'm pretty sure I'd miss you more though, if I had feelings at that point."
((It’s okay I got it. We want them to just show up?))
He smiled, kissing Bennet’s cheek. “Good, I’d be a little upset if you‘d remember me and didn’t miss me.” He chuckled softly.
((Yeah, I guess that'd work))
Bennet blushed slightly, "I, uhm, me too." He was still an awkward idiot and it was oh so obvious, "Soooo, what do you want to do now? I mean, we could just hang out and watch some TV or we could just uhm go out?"
