“Alec leave me alone!!” Connor growled, the other showing no sign of leaving his apartment. Instead, Alec was wandering dangerously close to Connor’s art stuff. Connor was just getting more and more tense.
“I can’t believe you’re fine with just living a regular boring life like this.” Alec said, inspecting the room and completely ignoring what Connor had just said.
“I’m this close to throwing you out the window.” Connor glared, his voice instinctively getting louder.
“Hey hey hey! Cool it babe, you don’t want to accidentally burn this place down do you?”
“Don’t call me that.” Connor snapped back but he did lower his voice.
As Bennet was drifting off he thought he heard voices coming from the Connor's room. At first, he tried to ignore them, but they did seem to get a little louder and angrier. Bennet really didn't want to have anything to do with it, he just wanted to get some sleep, but as the voices carried on he decided that he should just see what was going on. Grabbing the nearest cardigan, he pulled it on and headed over to Connor's room. He gently knocked on the door and waited patiently for him to answer.
Both of them quickly fell silent at the knock at the door. Connor cast one more glare at Alec before opening the door, just enough for him to poke his head out into the hall. “I’m so sorry, was the noise bothering you?” He asked, his voice calm and steady.
"Uhm. . ." Bennet didn't think this through far enough, and didn't exactly know what to say, or at least something that wouldn't sound too rude, "I uhm, yeah kind of. Is everything all right? I heard some arguing, are you okay? Or was that the TV? I mean, it's alright, I didn't mind too much at least." He began to ramble a bit, not too sure of what to say, "Well uhm, it's fine I guess, I uhm, yeah. .." He trailed off awkwardly, fidgeting with the ends of his cardigan, "Uhm, well goodnight. . ."
“Yeah everything’s fine. A friend just felt like dropping by unannounced.” He sent a quick glare at Alec again. “He was just leaving.”
“That’s what you think” Alec grumbled under his breath.
Connor rolled his eyes, scowling.
"Oh, uhm, okay." Bennet said quietly before heading back to his room, Well, that was awkward. He sighed softly, feeling a bit off about the conversation he had just had with his roommate, it was just odd, he didn't remember hearing the front door opening or anything like that, but then again, it was probably nothing. He leaned back against his pillows and closed his eyes trying to fall asleep.
“Now then…for the love of Satan could you leave”
“Fine fine! But I gotta say…your roommate’s weird dude”
“Whatever Alec just go!”
“Okay okay I’m going!” Alec went back out the window and when Connor checked, he was gone, nowhere in sight. Satisfied, Connor closed and locked his window. Just for extra measure he went out and opened and closed the front door, so it sounded like Alec left that way.
FInally Bennet started to fall asleep, he had been trying to figure out something for a while, the voice of the other guy sounded very familiar, he had heard it before. he wasn't sure where though. He didn't think that he was one of the angels, perhaps he was just a mortal, and he had a familiar voice, but he fell into a deep sleep he remembered groggily, that was the voice of a demon. He wasn't sure how he knew, or how he was so sure, but he was pretty sure of it too. He just needed to figure out how or why he thought that.
Connor let out a tired sigh as he closed his bedroom door behind him. He didn’t know why his brain was stuck on that comment Alec had made, calling Bennet weird. That was unusual for Alec, being a really weird person himself, he never described people like that. Especially someone that seemed as normal as Bennet. He decided he was too tired to think about it. He looked in the mirror in his room, pulling off the hat he’d been wearing. He could see the horns poking through his curly hair. They appeared whenever he got angry. He sighed, he’d always sort of hated them, but it was so painful to hide them. He pulled the beanie back on his head, knowing they wouldn’t go away until morning. He crawled into bed, dead tired, and fell asleep almost instantly.
(If you want, I can start)
Bennet woke up a bit later in the morning, he didn't have to go back to work for a little bit, he wasn't exactly sure why, but he was still happy about it. Sitting up in his bed he tried to remember what had happened the night before, something had happened, he couldn't remember what exactly, but that didn't faze him at all, he knew eventually he'd remember it, if it was important he'd find a way. After a few minutes of just enjoying the quiet of the morning he pushed himself out of bed and began to get dressed, he didn't have a plan of things that he wanted to do for the day, maybe he'd just stay in and eat a lot of ramen, or go out and get a pet, or something completely random like that. Pulling on the same cardigan that he had worn the night before over his clothes he headed over to the kitchen and began to poke around trying to find something edible. Eventually, he settled for cereal again, and decided to make an effort and try to eat it normally, or however most people ate it.
Connor had woken up shortly after Bennet did. But he just lay in bed for a solid 10 minutes, staring up at the ceiling. Eventually he stopped stalling, and reached up, running his hand through his hair. The horns were still there, smaller, but very much still present. He let out an aggravated sigh, pulling his hat back down over them. He stood up, wandering out of his room and into the kitchen. “G’morning.”
Bennet looked up at him and smiled a little, "Good morning." He studied the guy a little bit, "You look exhausted, was your friend here for a while last night?" He bit his lip and sighed softly, "I'm sorry, I'm probably prying, you can tell me to stop, it's fine." He said in between bites of his 'regular' cereal. It wasn't all that bad, although the food was getting a little bit soggy, but he was in a good mood and he was determined to not let anything bother him at all.
He shrugged. “Eh its fine I don’t mind. I kicked him out pretty shortly after you came in actually. I just ended up not sleeping very well. But it’s fine, I’ll take a nap or something later if I really need to.” He got his own bowl of cereal and sat down next to Bennet. “Did you sleep alright?”
Bennet nodded happily, "I think so, I mean, I probably did, I don't remember." He said shrugging a little, "If I need to sleep a little bit, I can later, I think, I don't have to go back to work for a little bit." He said smiling. "So, I'm guessing you'll finish up on your painting today?" He ran his hand through his hair trying to fix his messy blond hair, and nervously studied the other guy sitting in front of him. He's pretty attractive. . . He thought to himself, then tried to shun that thought of his mind, You don't like guys, remember that, Bennet.
He nodded, swallowing his cereal before replying. “Yeah. That should only take two hours or so. I’ll probably be finished right before noon. What time does your shift start?” He asked Bennet curiously.
((Oh yes let the gayness begin XD))
(Yep, I couldn't wait)
"I'm not sure, I don't think I'm working today at all." He said with a little shrug, "I can check, but I don't think so." He pulled out his phone from his pocket and checked his schedule, "Yep, I'm free to do whatever today." He said with a bit of a smile, "So uhm, yeah."
“Great. Maybe we can do something together once I’ve finished up working for the day.” He smiled over at Bennet as he said all of this. By this point in time he’d finished his food and stood up, washing his bowl out in the sink. “I’m gonna go get to work then so..see you later I guess?”
((I don’t blame you lol))
Bennet smiled happily at that, "That sounds fun, I let you be for now, okay?" He watched the other guy leave and then pulled out his phone, trying to not blush. But he knew that he was failing, Goodness, you can't be attracted to this guy, you're just crazy Bennet, you can't like him, at least not in that way. He sighed softly, scrolling through his feed trying to find something to take his mind off of this idea.
As Connor made his way back to his room, his mind made the observation that despite his slight bed head, Bennet had looked pretty cute. All of this was from an objective viewpoint of course. Bennet was just one of those aesthetically pleasing people that he’d come to appreciate during his time doing art. So he didn’t dwell on the observation too much.
