Oladuwun
Planet
Oladuwun is a tribal world whose technology is barely beyond that of the primitive age. Despite the residents’ lack of knowledge, they are very friendly to each other and to strangers. They have an extensive mythology and many archaeological relics that characters from other worlds would die in order to study.
The main language of the Oladu is Hekoshek, an offshoot of an ancient reptilian language which some of the lesser animals still speak.
6.7 hundred million — it’s a small planet.
It is generally unacceptable to do things such as steal, harm, kill, and other relatively inhumane things on Oladuwun, especially towards representatives of another village or place. Besides that, each village has its own individual rules that its inhabitants have to follow.
The local Oladu usually trade or barter food and supplies rather than use any particular currency.
Many Oladu children enjoy a game called Talystomon similar to tag where one “sekormun” or seeker has to chase the runners (the “bekek”) and touch them with their tail in order to make the runner they touched the seeker and themselves a runner.
Oladuwun is a swampy world containing many reptilian and amphibious creatures, only one of which is intelligent; the Oladu, which is a cold-blooded biped similar to the crocodiles on Earth.
The herbivores of Oladuwun often eat the edible water-based plants in the bog or the leafy elephant-ear-esque plants on the surface. There are few berries species growing on the planet, but the ones that are found by its inhabitants are treasured.
The climate of the planet is very hot — nearly the entire planet is in the tropical zone, with the exceptions of the poles, which are uninhabitable due to a damaged atmosphere in those areas.
Oladuwun has an extensive mythology depicting deities such as Artek the yellow, winged snake and Kopochoko, the Oladu hero who slayed all of the predators of old. There are many relics prized and held by the planet’s villages, like ancient pictographs and swords... including a heavily painted and cherished skull that looks just a little off from that of any Oladuwun creature.
This has some private notes attached to it. Will I tell you what they say? Nope.
