Jenestder Marne Glynn
Jen, "Glenn"
16-29
Cis Male
He/Him
Straight/Bi-curious
Leader Strategist
One of the main cast of kids
Jen knows how to dance, specifically Bachata, Reggaeton, Salasa, and Hip-hop styles very well.
Everything that's happened to Jen so far has heavily shaped and impacted Jen's personality. He used to often be very moody, not liking when people touch him without his permission. And although he is considered a very easy person to talk to, because of his free-spirited attitude, he wasn't always like this.
Jen knows his boundaries and won't let anyone pass them, almost to the point of being a closed-off person, not letting anyone know who he used to be. Jen is someone who wants to drown his memories and past. If you ask about his history he'll most likely give you a shrug and say "Does it matter?".
Jen does, in fact, have depression from his past experiences, he went as far as to want to end his life, and to deal with this he took anti-depressants that would often make him feel "normal", being able to have a more stable mentality, though he does have his rocky days.
Jen does cry often, sometimes getting PTSD flashbacks of the massacred people he had to decapitate. Jen heavily regrets everything he did with a passion and it's enough to give him nightmares when he sleeps. Other than this he seems like a pretty normal kid in his teenage years, though the past still bruises him if brought up. Jen is friendly and open to people he thinks are mature, but often not paying any mind to those who cannot be reasoned with.
Jen in the beginning is a very naive kid and repays his gratitude by serving the people who took him in, it isn't until later that he uncovers some things that challenge his core beliefs and puts him in a difficult position of whether he should ignore it and keep doing what he's doing or listen to his gut when it tells him that "this isn't right."
Graduated high school, is now studying in college while balancing his two jobs.
Jen was born to a poor family who was from El Salvador, where at the time, the conditions were rocky with the government.
Jen's parents struggled to feed Jen's siblings at the time and even themselves. Around this time there was a war going on between the so-called government and a guerrilla group (part of the military) that opposed the president.
At this particular time when war broke out where Jen's family lived, there was a massacre in a village near where they lived- fearful that something would happen to them, they immigrated to the United States where Jen grew up, only to join a gang as little as six years of age, not that he himself joined it, but his older brothers did, which made the whole family follow suit to seek protection from the discrimination against them.
But that only lasted so long as the government cracked down on these gangs and deported them back to El Salvador.
At age seven, police officers caught Jen's parents and brothers and deported them back to El Salvador. Jen wasn't with his family at the time, having to run an errand at the grocery store for his parents with one of his older brothers. When they came back to the empty messy house, like someone had struggled to get away from something, they both panicked and fled to the place where the majority of who didn't have a home stayed.
Jen was eventually brought in as well when he was caught stealing for what was left of the gang he had joined when his family had been deported.
Instead of sending Jen back with his family, the government took advantage of this situation and kept Jen, training him like a soldier since he already had pretty good fighting skills. That same year he was handed over to Vincent, who was twenty-one at the time. Jen only being nine.
Vince was a guy who smoked, someone who used to be a soldier for the country, soon changing paths to become a hitman on the down-low for Nexus. All of the death changed him, becoming someone who could give zero shits about anything and it was written all over his face.
Adopting Jen wasn't Vince's choice, it was pushed on him by Nexus higher-ups since he wanted to "prove to them that he could do riskier jobs", so they gave him Jen to look after as a test. He taught Jen how to handle a sniper gun, and Jen mastered it in a year, taking on jobs Nexus gave him. Not only did this help Jen live and earn his own money, but it changed Vince as well, helping him find something to live for and care for, a missing emotion he wasn't sure he had. Sympathy.
Jen lived comfortably and protected all the way through his middle and high school years, working alongside Vincent as a hitman as well.

“Do you understand the violence it took to become this gentle?” ― Nitya Prakash
Name: Jenestder Marne Glynn
Nickname: Jen, "Jenny"
Age: 21
Gender: Cis Male
Pronouns: He/Him
Sexuality: Straight
Race: Human, Salvadorian/Guatemalan; Hispanic
Appearance: Jen's eyes are a russet brown with a hint of amber highlights, the outside of the iris being a black ring that mixes with the amber color. Near the center of the pupil, it's more of a rusted orange color. His eyes are almond-shaped and very relaxed, having a neutral canthal tilt.
Jen's nose is thin and straight, a sort of medium-size, with his lips being slightly thin but not small. He also has several beauty marks on his face, the more noticeable one being just below his left eye, the others being scattered about on the left side of his face, mostly on the upper area of his cheek- there looks to be seven in total, some a bit more faded than others.
His face shape is pretty angular in features, being a combination of diamond and square face shapes. While he might have a sharp jawline, it's still softened a little, not being too intense. He has the shortness of the square face shape, not being too long, and the thinness yet sharpness of the diamond face shape.
Jen's hair ranges from a very light brown color to a medium brown color, it being very thick yet silky which makes it seem a bit flat when not styled. His hair will generally alternate from a short shaggy cut, messy like a bedhead, to it being jawline length, maybe a bit linger sometimes but not by a lot. When it does get long he likes to put it up in a half bun. Sometimes he'll run a cream-like paste through it to rough it up when it's short- that being the closest thing he does to styling it.
Because his hair is really silky and healthy, it is also very shiny since he does take care of it, but the paste he puts in his hair gives it a matte look instead of a glossy one.
Jen is 6'0" with sun-kissed skin from working outside under the harsh sun. His skin color was already tan as it was something he was naturally born with, but it darkened a bit more over the years of working outside. Jen weighs 176 lbs, having quite a bit of muscle to him- a mesomorph type as he keeps up a healthy lifestyle.
Clothes: His usual outfit is composed of dirty loose brown cargo pants with a plain black t-shirt. For shoes, he'll go for black combat boots since he does heavy work in his repair shop.
For "accessories" Jen carries around a long strip of brown fabric that he wraps around his hands to mimic a more scuffed version of "fingerless gloves", he does this so his hands won't get burned from the heavy metal he has to lift sometimes, especially on extremely hot days. It sort of looks like he's getting ready to fist-fight someone boxer-style.
Sometimes Jen will have "formal business" to attend and you'll see him wearing more dark academia-style clothing, often liking trench coats, formal button-ups, slacks, and casual shoes- although looking like a plain/cheaper version of that style.
Skills: Jen is a mastermind when it comes to plans and tricks on how to throw people off his track. He has good fighting skills and techniques as he had been trained to learn since he was a preteen. Jen's good at building things and fixing things, hence being a mechanic. He can also build a lot of things from scratch if he has the necessary materials, turning something harmless into a weapon.
Condition(s): Depression, Anxiety, PTSD
Personality: Everything that's happened to Jen so far has heavily shaped and impacted Jen's personality. In his childhood he used to be a very moody kid, not liking when people touched him without his permission. And although he is considered a very easy person to talk to now, he wasn't always like this.
First and foremost, Jen is a very passive person, think your typical kind and sweet guy, bordering on being very motherly to those around him, yet still having a "roughness" about him. While he seems really soft and can take a lot of things, he knows his boundaries and won't let anyone trample them. Jen has a lot of self-respect and is very firm in what he wants, though, that doesn't mean he can't be flexible if the situation calls for it.
The guy is pretty friendly and open to a lot of people, especially those who he thinks are more mature. If it's someone who challenges him on every little thing and is very hard to have a serious conversation with he might just ignore said person, not really liking to deal with those who justify shitty actions. He has a lot of patience but there comes a time when he knows he has to remove himself from the situation to save him the headache.
Jen, in the beginning, is a very naive kid and repays his gratitude by serving the people who took him in, and it isn't until later that he uncovers some things that challenge his core beliefs that put him in a difficult position of whether he should ignore it and keep doing what he's doing or listen to his gut when it tells him that "this isn't right."
Jen may also seem like a very calm guy, thinking things through before he speaks or does anything, but he is also very much an anxiety-ridden individual. His symptoms can range from trembling and laughing nervously to getting defensive almost to the point of being ill-tempered- but that's only in very extreme cases. He tries his best not to get angry at others, having a history of being very explosive towards others. He might screw up from time to time, but definitely tries his best to mend things afterward, "taking responsibility" being something he very much believes in.
Some other parts of Jen are a bit more on the "gloomy" side if you will, carrying a depression from his past experiences. Jen never actively tried to take his life but he still has what would professionally be called "passive suicidal ideation". So while he may not actively be seeking out ways to end his life, he wouldn't mind if an accident happened that ended up killing him.
Background: Jen was adopted by Vincent at age nine, Vince being a rugged man who had been in the military. Vince was a guy who smoked- someone who used to be a soldier for the government, soon changing paths to become a hitman on the down-low.
All of the death changed him, becoming someone who had an "I couldn't care less" personality about the world around him, but Nexus had other plans, shoving the responsibility of fostering a child on him who then became permanently adopted by Vince.
Vince basically took pity on Jen and raised him as best as he could, even though he wasn't the most affectionate person in the world. He taught Jen how to handle a sniper gun, who then mastered it in a year, not knowing Jen's history which was full of war and death as well, already knowing how to handle a gun since the age of six. Not only did Jen living with Vince give Jen a sort of "stable" childhood, eventually finding a way to earn his own money, but it changed Vince as well, helping him find something to live for and care for, giving him a bit more purpose in his life.
After Vince died Jen took over his contact information and continued unfinished work on his behalf, these same people who were close with Vince, became close with Jen as well. This only lasted for so long, however, as Jen traded that life with something much cleaner, trying to find a more honest way to live.
Up until this point, no one really knows what went down in Jen's early childhood because he won't say, but it was traumatic to the point of giving him sleepless nights, nightmares being a common theme when he does get rest, though, it's never enough to make him cry out in his sleep but enough to wake up in tears sometimes.
He also is very overly jumpy at loud sounds, even if they weren't that loud to begin with.
