(Chōwa) Of course!
She flew into the sky, readying her horn
(Iolite) I should open a popcorn stand for this…
(Me) It's going down tonight. Let me just magic me up some of that choco-raspberry popcorn.
(Chōwa) Of course!
She flew into the sky, readying her horn
(Iolite) I should open a popcorn stand for this…
(Me) It's going down tonight. Let me just magic me up some of that choco-raspberry popcorn.
(Lucitius) “Come to me, mine darling Death.”,he sang.
Lucitius leaped high, his enormous wings propelling him upward with great speed, chasing Chōwa. The electricity scattered across his body, caressing every scale with a light touch. His claws glowed with burning light, and he laughed maniacally.
(Me) Oh no, he’s singing! It’s never a good thing when he sings. Also, that phrase is the first line in an ancient poem called ‘Despair in Greif’. It’s his favorite despite its very dark and sad tale.
(Chōwa) She shot a beam of magic at him
(Chōwa) What's the singing for?
(Me) Choco-Raspberry popcorn was definitely a good idea, though I'm wishing I had some IRL right about now.
Deimos: Has remained leaning against the wall, ignoring what was happening nearby
Such pointless violence…
(Me) Trust me, Chōwa isn't all violence. Neither is Shinsei. They're also psychological torture. Iolite is also a psychological torture person.
(Iolite) I know right. Violence is so much better when it has a point. Even then, I prefer psychological torture.
(Lucitius) “Hold mine hand, break mine will.”,he continued, ignoring her.
Lucitius rushed past Chōwa, flying ever higher, pulsing a wave of electricity. Though it was weak, barely enough to count as static, it was enough to cause turbulence above Chōwa.
(Me) I’m honestly not sure how to go with this battle, primarily regarding how the attacks hit. Or is this one of those where everything hits and it’s just describing the effect and how the wounded character copes? I’m up for suggestions.
Um, well, it seems I have the most violent character of the bunch. He’s a bit of a bulldozer, once started, can’t stop. And he doesn’t care what type of violence.
(Me) I mean, Chōwa is bound to try and end the battle pretty soon. She'll use a few normal hits, but still. Also, we can roll a die to see whether or not it hits.
(Chōwa) She fumbled on her wings a bit, but got her balance back
(Me) d20 like DnD or what?
(Lucitius) He continues to speed up higher, electricity arcing off of him in increasingly larger streaks
Me: Takes a lot to get Deimos triggered to be honest
Deimos: Huffs
I have no reason for violence less I am threatened, or my hunger strikes
(Me) Totally d20 DnD style. We'll do a roll for dodging and a roll for hitting.
(Chōwa) She blasted another beam of magic for his chest
(Me) I got a 9 for the hit.
(Me) Lucky Deimos!
12 for dodge
(Lucitius) He spins out of the beam’s way, clipping his wing. “Fool feline!” He holds his wings out, no longer flapping and simply falls, plummeting straight for Chōwa with claws outretched.
(Me) 8 to hit.
(Me) 17 for dodge
(Chōwa) She aimed another beam of magic at him.
(Me) 18 for hit
(Me) Oh, this is going to suck. 7 for dodge.
(Lucitius) He growls in rage at missing, then shrieks as the beam hits him. He flaps his wings to stop his fall, throwing a ball of arcing electricity at Chōwa.
(Me) 13 to hit. What are the effects of the beams?
(Me) This beam isn't from Shinsei's magic, it's from Nikushimi's. It's basically just a long-range attack. It's nothing to worry about, just painful.
Also, 19 to dodge (I don't know why my numbers just keep going up. I swear I'm not cheating.)
(Chōwa) She fires another magic beam, this one is laced with ice. This makes its target freeze for a minute and feel cold a few seconds after the freeze.
(Me) 8 to hit. I broke the high streak.
Deimos: Shifts his head, hidden gaze landing on the shadows nearby him, a sudden blade resting near his shoulder
Relax reaper dragon, I have been behaving myself
???: Shadows dispersing, revealing what appears to be a young man, except a serpentine tail attached to his spine
A surprise, considering you could devour all the present souls here
Deimos: I doubt the god of death sent you to seek me out Vokun'viing
Some souls got away, didn't they?
(Me) 11 for dodge
(Lucitius) He screeches angrily. He rushes upward again, a massive wing aimed to slam Chōwa.
(Me) 16 to hit. Ooh, a mystery fellows comes hither.
(Me) Youch. 2 to dodge.
(Chōwa) She growled in pain, aiming a fire-laced magic beam right for his wing once she recovered
(Me) 12 to hit
(Me) 2 to dodge. Reminder- He’s immune to fire.
(Lucitius) The beam hit, igniting his wing. He laughed, a breif purr rumbling in his throat.
“I hold the heart of a dragon within me! Fire burns in mine veins!”
He sent a powerful pulse of electricity, this one meant to hurt.
(Me) 13 to hit. Why so many 13’s?
Deimos: Vokun'viing, one of the few reaper dragons that exist
Vokun'viing: Shoots a glare, though lowers his katana, returning it to the sheathe
Deimos: A pity Mortality wasn't the one to appear, she's at least a bit easier to work with than you
(Me) There is plotting about. I smell it! I wonder what will happen next, oh how I do.
(Me) Youch. 3 to dodge.
(Chōwa) She yelped in pain, but determination burned in her eyes. She aimed a magic blast filled with Shinsei's trademark magic dead at snake boy.
(Me) 14 to hit. Also, I wrote snake boy because I legitimately forgot his name when I was writing this.
(Me) 13 to dodge. Again, why? Why so many 13’s?
(Lucitius) He tried to dodge, but the blast still clipped him. He stubbornly sent forth a bolt of white lightning, one only the strongest individuals could withstand.
(Me) 19. Oh… um… that was a shock. Pun semi-intended. I honestly didn’t expect that high a number.
Okay, the forgotten name is actually pretty funny. But, it worked out. Chaos reigns! I’m, personally, not mad at all, by the way.
Deimos: Sighs
So shall we get direct, cause I know you prefer it that way
No, I have not devoured any souls as of late. In fact, last I ate was about two weeks ago
Vokun: releases a soft 'tck'
Which is even more concerning
Deimos: If you are that worried, point me to the nearest group of black auras and clear them out
Vokun: I currently have my own list of escaped souls I need to deal with, not babysit a walking calamity
(Me) Plotting! I knew it! How exciting!
(Me) 10 to dodge. Welp.
(Chōwa) She yelped in pain, unfusing. Her unfuse eased the pain and Nikushimi gave up the fight. Shinsei, on the other hand, wouldn't give up. She aimed her signature magic for his left wing.
(Me) 18 to hit. This is going to be fun.
