I've been struggling with naming specific things in my fictional city, it used to have a document with all the names but i did something stupid and accidentally deleted it. So i wonder, how do i get good names for businesses in my city?
I'd take a look at some of the businesses in your town or city to start! Where I live we have a lot of buffalo that roam the hills nearby so some of the businesses appeal to that. We also live right next to large hot springs, so businesses take that for a name. Other businesses tend to name themselves based on their product. Think something like Pizza Hut, Burger King, or Dunkin Donuts. Hope that helped!
Fantasy name generator has a ton of misc names for all sorts of business types. I think they recently added a bookstore name generator, so I'd check them out and check under their "place names" tab. At the very least it could be a jump-off point. Good Luck!
Try also looking at words in other languages. Then your world's name could also have a deeper meaning yk? You got this! Hopefully this helped
My strategy sounds really lame compared to these other ones, but I just keyboard smash and add some spaces, and then I have several names for cities, worlds, species, and people.
