Okay, I don't mean the Christian kind.
What's your take on them? Would you read a book about someone who finds out suddenly that they're a demon?

Heck yeah!
Even better if they were working towards some kind of saint hood but things just never pandered quite right. They didn't know why, maybe their God was just testing them?
Then boom.
What do you mean I'm a demon?! I can't be a demon!!
In my universe demons are fire based and nearly all of them live in one country called morgul but they're all super nice.
In Telurs and Crossroads demons are a humanoid beast race with horns and skin of any color between red and blue. Purples are the most common.
As for you question, what kind of demons are we talking about. Like Devilman demons that possess people? Or some kind of species?
I think demons of any kind are really interesting. I'm a fan of the whole demon concept, though I do prefer them in a more biblical sense, I think that any spin on them is really cool. I would definitely read that book.
I love the demonic concept, and I'm using it in my book-in-progress. In the continent of Arwaea, daemons, or Creatures of the Night (cliché, I know), are divided into five categories: Unai, Ughirai, Ginath, Zylana, and Ghulims
For my worlds, demons are creatures of chaos, but of varying degrees. All demons represent something horrible in the universe (take that in any way) and can't be reasoned with. They live in a whole other world for me, Hell is for devils and another realm called The Abyss is where demons gather. All they want is to corrupt humanity, but each one has its own way of doing it and thinks the others are going about it all wrong. They fight amongst themselves, even demons of the same species, but they all exist for the same cause. Possession is not uncommon but it normally has to be willingly depending on the superiority of the demon and their strength
In.my series, demons are simply well, the dark side of the universe, where as angels are light and order, demons are darkness and chaos. In my series, just as angels are dutiful but not truly "good", demons are morbid, but not truly "bad", the two are two sides of the same coin, which makes it hard for me to talk about one without talking about the other.
Also @nekh nice reference!
I think the idea of a friendly demon is great. Even in my story the main character is a half demon and one of the nicest people. Well also in this story the angels are kind of … not so nice to outsiders.
So reading a book about some finding out there are a demon would be awsome.^^
In my fanfic, the main protagonists are demons, and are pretty good guys, like most SoJ demons, but Seliph threatens to eat Leif, a human who slightly bullied Seliph when they were kids due to Seliph being very small, even for a kid. It was simply a vengeful joke, though, so Leif was safe. Although, demons probably have eaten humans before.
Demons have the potential to be badass.
In my story Angels are very rude to other supernaturals and often think of them self's being higher than everything else. There are 2 types of demons in my story, the ones who follow (insert evil name here) and the ones who don't. These groups are constantly at each others throats. Both demons and angels rely on humans for power. think of the angels/demons are bullets but with out a gun their useless and humans are the gun.
