your characters going camping

Quinn - Has made a really nice campsite, with a good fire and well-made tents with lots of blankets. is probably either toasting marshmallows with Jasmine (or toasting them for her) or stargazing.
Jasmine - Enjoying the campsite, eating marshmallows raw unless Quinn toasts them, stargazing with him, singing after Quinn falls asleep.
Cayde - Is burning marshmallows, climbing trees, pulling pranks, being loud and shattering the peace.
Amelya - Whatever Cayde is doing but louder and meaner. Might be sharpening weapons by the firelight.

Charlie: has already found a pond or lake and is swimming laps like a fish

Johnny: "Umm…" builds a perfect lean-to and lights a perfect campfire without remembering how he knows how to do either of those things

Da'amiun: builds a nest up in the trees big enough for everyone, only to see Johnny's campsite and get huffy "Well fine then! I was just trying to be nice!"

Ronni: sits staring into the fire, listening to the nature sounds and doing a little bit of soul-healing

Ronnie: sitting with her, glowering at anyone who gets too loud or too close, while also keeping a close eye on the surrounding woods "If you need it, the bear mace is in my pack. Next to the pepper spray and Glock."

Naveil, Salmook, Atlurre, and Rhival'lur:
It's pretty much no different from their normal life, although having them all in the same place at the same time could be chaotic considering that they'd all probably jump Naveil at some point-

Doeider and Bracke'nad:
Would probably get into an argument about which of them hates being outside the most, only to end up dragging everyone else into it and getting everyone heated.
Seriously, these two could argue about whether or not the sun comes up in the morning, and still end up getting everyone upset.

Cadastern:
Would be absolutely mortified of absolutely everything. She does NOT handle outside well at all- Would most likely be glued to Doeider, her mom.

maddie: is the cool, badass older kid that the younger grade kids think is totally awesome but who's classmate see as a himbo dork
beake: popular pretty boy bully, cause he's rich and mean/manipulative
mackya: the adhd kid (me)
cae: the bullied kid
olivia: popular but fake
chluta: sets the chemistry lab on fire several times, a few times on purpose
raydon: takes apart school computers to make "a better one"
vicuris: the queer kid (also me)

enton: literally turns the whole place into high school musical with protagonist powers
kamalin: that weird over dramatic kid who always thinks they're in the right but is actually just obnoxious
manta: that guy who basically thinks school is just for dating then has to repeat a grade
corie: the trauma kid who stopped caring about all the bs listed above a long time ago

I have too many ocs so I'm gonna respond with 15 of my favorite/most protagonist-like characters, most of which are already in school:

Adam wants to be so popular so badly. He's already fairly close to one of the more popular boys, but nobody actually considers him one of the gang. He's a D average. Teachers fucking HATE him. Most kids find him annoying. He is still banned from Cooking Club because his pre-split self tried to murder the club president (he is very upset about it). Knows which closets are best for discreet fucking. Painted his locker purple.

Adrian is both an edgy loner and a jock. He has no friends besides Adam, Riku, and somewhat Garrett, keeps to himself, and spends most of his school hours studying or swimming. He aids in vandalism if the opportunity presents itself, but would rather spend as little time on site as possible. Also banned from the Cooking Club because of the pre-split murder thing (couldn't care less but still thinks McKenzie was a bitch). First one to leave the classroom. Teachers don't like him. Other kids think he's a tryhard loser.

Anchor moved here recently, so he's got that Weird And Off-Putting New Kid type deal, but he befriended the principal's son and also the demon possessing a previous villain so now he's respectfully avoided. He does ok and the teachers don't have any strong opinions on him.

Colette also moved here recently. She's too busy dealing with all the magic bullshit to worry about mundane things like grades or social status (both are average).

Divine Watcher was only allowed to attend townie school after his mother died, and only because private school was the Wrong Kind of fantasy Catholic. He & his siblings are only there until his father can arrange a situation that aligns with his religious beliefs, so Divine doesn't bother with doing well or making friends because he knows it won't matter. He's disliked because he won't shut up about being God's Chosen One (he is not).

Imogen technically goes to school because she camps out in the Video Game Club's room 24/7, but she does not attend class on account of being legally dead. People mostly don't know she exists. Her twin is on the student council. The Video Game Club thinks she's ok.

Kit no longer attends school, but when she did she was an edgy nerd with no friends and high marks. Assisted the school librarian for fun. Teachers loved her, kids called her a pompous dweeb.

Locke, like her sister Colette, also moved here recently. She became popular quickly and is well-liked by her peers. Teachers hate her mischievous and careless nature. Her grades are average.

Lucas plays football, but is not on the school team. Mike wishes he was. Other than Mike, generally ignored. Joth. C grade. Caused a lot of havoc when he was possessed but it's all cool now.

Marcel keeps his head down and tries not to draw any attention. B-C grades. Best known for his handiness and his attempts to keep Lucas possessed. People are generally irritated by his strange new obsession with shutting down the school's electricity, especially Luna and Anchor.

Patchy last went to school hundreds of years ago. She says things were simpler and better then but she was well-liked and that definitely influenced her perception. Class clown, of course. C grade.

Quincey was a tech geek, a bit of a prankster, and knew everyone's secrets. People hated her because she made them buy her silence. Generally an A student. Nobody was sad when she disappeared and was accused of murder. Best computer geek in school.

Riku is very popular. His grades are average. Spends most of his school days with his 5 closest friends. In the Cooking Club. Trying to woo one of his clubmates. Worst people can say about him is that he hangs out with Adam & Adrian Burrell as well as his 5 friends.

Vintaia last went to school over 900 years ago. She was bullied and had poor grades. After her rise to power, she destroyed her school and killed her bullies. Has no idea one of her exes is "haunting" a school building.

Zandrus was painfully average before he disappeared for a year. Now he's trying to destroy Imogen, with little success. Tech savvy but not nerdy.

ahem and in the order my brain dictates is the best but makes no sense to much anyone else-

Demetrius: The P.E. teacher who’s a war veteran and somehow ended up with this job afterwards.
Medea: The dance teacher who’s always really nice and is always wearing colorful clothing.
Tseth: Somehow simultaneously the emo/alt kid and the popular guy who’s friends with (mostly) everyone.
Aelin: The one who really likes actual projects because she’s good at the arting.
Ren: Emo kid 2.0 who’s quiet and rarely talks to anyone.
Alex: Kid who does dumb shit genuinely because he doesn’t know what will happen and wants to, but is also studying to become a doctor. (God help him.)
Harper: Most likely participates in a sport of some sort, and is really good at it.
Jesse: Class clown 😔
Aster: Mom friend of sorts, but for like, a completely different part of the school than everyone else here.
Atlas: Really nice at first, but they’re a bit of an ass later on as you get to know them.
Cesaria: The Karen that leads the PTA group or something.
Cyrus: The school bully, 100%-
Zariah: Popular girl who’s genuinely just a self-centered bitch.
Verena: A+ student with a clean record.
Hendrix: Kid who does drugs in the parking lot while skipping classes.
Daphne: Struggles in school due to family issues, her few friends try to help her as best they can.
Niko: Class clown 2.0 but he’s actually not funny because he’s immature as fuck.
Evie: The kid who eats paper for fun-
Benedict: Annoying/idiotic teacher that everyone hates and makes fun of, why was he allowed to teach, fire him now.
Erix: The new teacher that replaces Benedict after he gets fired. Average teacher who’s kind of cool but the students still make fun of him (jokingly this time)
Melody: Precious child that gets picked on and doesn’t deserve it. She did nothing :(
Soatsaki: Either the extremely knowledgeable librarian or the principal.
Lili: Anxiety friend who only talks to 2 people max, is one of the few people helping Daphne aka Mom Friend

idk, I've never been to school!

Johnny: taking notes, paying close attention, loving every minute of it because he's learning!

Charlie: spends his time in the gym, or making sure the school bullies leave Johnny alone

Ronnie: shows up to class, never seems to be paying attention, never does his homework but aces the tests anyway. Passes the class with a low C

Da'amiun: "So many people…." never does any work, spends his time exclusively socializing, but similar to Ronnie, manages to pass his classes on sheer brains. Annoying to his teachers for this reason

Tashan: perfect student. picks on the bullies, particularly the boys

Savannah: that one (snarky and intimidating) kid who never seems to pay attention in class but somehow is one of the top students in the class
Jamie: the genius kid that everyone doesn't mess with because his sister is in the military and his best friend (Savannah) will literally beat you tf up
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer): teacher's fav, little cinnamon roll that is secretly a menace

Amarya: the nice student, decent at school
Carlos: the quiet kid who draws in the back of the class, works hard to get good grades but typically only caps out on b's, twins with Carmen (though most people don't believe him and thinks he's making it up)
Carmen: the popular girl, her grades are good purely based on luck, twins with Carlos (always a surprise when she mentions her mysterious twin, though no one believes her when she said Carlos)
Ash: doesn't try, tries to gaslight the teachers into fixing her grade (it sometimes works)
Navin: anxious mess
Lenna: rumor has it she made the most intimidating teacher cry, everyone is scared and in awe of her but only her friends know her heart of gold

Fern: student body president, active in school events
Blaze: school athlete, popular, has crush on the quiet girl (Brooke)
Brooke: quiet girl, usually hangs out in library, has crush on one of the most popular boys in school

koco: runs out the door
maddie: packs all the thing koco forgot, sandwiches for lunch and snacks for the road.
beake:packs every item he owns (which is a lot)
cae: packs item he owns (which is barely anything)
flora: packs raydon into a suitcase.
randon: takes his toolkit in case someone(flora) loses another limb and needs another prosthetic
chulta: only brings the essentials and extra sandwiches

(gardigen: packs cassie's things
dominique: packs cassie's lunch
minoku: packs cassie
cassie: has no idea what's going on at all times)

Charlie: making sure everyone else gets all their stuff packed. Winds up just grabbing an extra set of clothes in a backpack, and his wallet "Y'all ready to go?"

Unnamed: packs extremely efficiently and has so much room left over in his suitcase, the girls keep asking him to pack their extra stuff "I mean… sure? I don't even know how I managed that…"

Da'amiun: stuffs a duffel bag full of snacks and is waiting for the rest hours before they need to go

Savannah: are you absolutely positive we won’t need a fire starting kit?
andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer): babe, please we’re going on a boat
Savannah: I’m not hearing a no, I’m packing it anyways

Only doing four since seven is too much

Vladimir: You don't get to pick where we go Sergei
Sergei: My pet would love the beach
Vladimir: Sand and wires don't mix
Ivan: Camping seems fun
Peter: I could start the fire
